With more and more people wanting to get online these days, the choices of website hosting have become more and more confusing. At one stage there were only a few different website hosting plans to choose from but now they seem to be never-ending. There are thousands of web hosts who each have their own plans, so how on earth do you know which is best for you?

Well the answer to this question is obviously to do your research. First you need to know if there is anything specific about the type of website you have or want to build that needs anything technical from the host. You may need scripts running for instance, so you must make sure your host is compatible with your website. Once you have this sorted, you will then need to choose from some general options:

Disk Space – With the advancement in technology, most web hosts will provide you with far too much disk space than you will ever need. But to make sure, work out the size of your website and be sure your hosting plan gives you more than that amount.

Bandwidth – Bandwidth is basically the amount of data that is transferred each month by people visiting your site. The more graphics and videos you have, the more bandwidth you will use. Many hosting plans offer unlimited bandwidth, so look out for this option to see if it is available.

Email Accounts – Another thing to look for is whether you have unlimited email accounts. Most good hosting plans have this but make sure yours does too.
